We want to build a church community that is wholly devoted to serving Jesus Christ. All of the ministries of Sovereign Grace Church exist to glorify God by demonstrating the transforming effects of the Gospel as we build a community made of people who know what it means to honor Christ by serving others. To this end, we place a high value on the following things:

Humility

"Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interest, but also to the interest of others."  Philippians 2:3-4

We see evidence of humility in:

  • Consistent displays of courtesy and consideration for others over ourselves
  • Regularly seeking input from others on how to improve
  • A willingness to serve others, regardless of role or position
  • Demonstrating generosity as it relates to time, resources and attention

Joy

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control."  Galatians 5:22-23

We see evidence of joy in:

  • Consistently demonstrating a cheeful disposition to others
  • Regularly expressing thanks to others for their contributions
  • Being patient with others
  • Regularly identifying evidences of grace in others

Faithfulness

"Only fear the LORD and serve Him faithfully with all you heart. For consider what great things He has done for you."  I Samuel 12:24

We see evidence of faithfulness in:

  • Demonstrating a habit of being on time for meetings and activities
  • Being trustworthy in the handling of ministry resources
  • Keeping one's commitments to others
  • Serving wholeheartedly to accomplish the goals and responsibilities of our ministry team

Creativity

"So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."  Genesis 1:27

We see evidence of creativity in:

  • Consistently thinking "outside the box" for creative solutions or new initiatives that don't compromise our doctrinal integrity
  • Seeking to create a culture where people initiate service and don't merely respond to requests for help

Excellence

"So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church."  I Corinthians 14:12

We see evidence of excellence in:

  • Consistently pursuing excellence in all spheres of ministry
  • Evaluating how we can grow or improve
  • Seeking to grow in the gifts and abilities God has entrusted to us
  • Doing everything for God's glory
