Where is the church located?
Sunday services are now in our new facility at 111 Greentree Road in Marlton, NJ.
What time should I arrive?
The service begins at 10:00 a.m. Prayer for the Sunday worship service begins at 9:00 a.m. and is open to everyone. Children (babies able to sit up and crawl through 5th grade) are released to attend Promise Kingdom (our ministry for children) during a short break between worship and the sermon.
What should I wear?
You don't have to dress to impress others. We believe that God is concerned primarily with our hearts. Some people dress up for our times together while others come dressed quite casually. You will be welcome either way and are not likely to feel out of place, no matter how you dress.
Is Sovereign Grace a denomination?
We prefer to describe ourselves as a family of churches. And the distinction is not simply a matter of wording. Denominations are often defined by specific legal or organizational structures that join individual churches together. At the heart of Sovereign Grace Ministries is not structure, but broad doctrinal agreement growing out of a shared passion for the centrality of the Gospel. Our unity arises from a pervasive passion for starting, establishing, and strengthening local churches here and abroad, all to God's glory.
What are your main doctrinal beliefs?
At the core of our doctrine is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It's our main passion and pursuit, both in our proclamation and in our daily lives. The cross of Jesus Christ and what it means for Christians figures heavily in our conversation and teaching. Surrounding this core is an emphasis on sound doctrine from the Bible. We describe our theological approach as "essentially Reformed," yet we embrace a commitment to charismatic (or continuationist) practices, but only as we find those practices biblically defined. Finally, we desire all these convictions to inspire a passion for the local church--what we believe is the primary context for Christian growth and mission.
